Spectacle blind flanges, also known as figure-eight blind flanges, are flanges used in pipelines to temporarily or permanently close off a section of pipeline. It consists of two metal discs with a metal "bridge" (glasses) in between, forming a figure 8. One of the discs has a raised surface for bolting to the adjacent flange, while the other is flat to provide a blind closure.
